After much deliberation, we’ve completed the selection for our upcoming cohort! We’re excited to welcome this diverse group representing visual artists, curators, filmmakers, and many other disciplines. Starting in mid July, SDA residents will develop and expand their knowledge of accessibility practices and Disability Justice within an Arts context. SDA Residents will learn to incorporate accessibility features into their creative practice and in the foundation of their making-process, while collaborating on digital projects and SDA community events.

Our new members are listed below (in alphabetical order by last name.)  Be sure to watch our Instagram page as we highlight each of them in the coming weeks!

Group Sleepover illustration by Jonathan Soren Davidson

A group of disabled queer Black folks talk and laugh at a sleepover, relaxing across two large beds. Everyone is dressed in colorful t-shirts and wearing a variety of sleep scarves, bonnets, and durags. On the left, two friends sit on one bed and paint each other’s nails. On the right, four people lounge on a bed: one person braids another’s hair while the third friend wearing a C-PAP mask laughs, and the fourth person looks up from their book. In the center, a bedside lamp illuminates the room in warm light while pill bottles adorn an end table. (Illustration by Jonathan Soren Davidson for Disabled and Here)
