Community Agreements

We would like to spend some time on the forum collaborating on Community Agreements. These will be essential to ensuring that our community is respectful, fruitful and a “safer space.” Creating these agreements together will be an on-going process, but we want to put some focus on them during the first few weeks, so we can develop a version of them to guide our community in the coming months.

Community Agreements are a consensus on what every person in our group needs from each other and commits to each other in order to feel safe, supported, open, productive and trusting. We are creating these so that we can create collaborative, learn, have fun, and work towards building a more accessible and equity Art world. (source)

Let's start collaborating asynchronously on a set of agreements that works for all of us! Please take some time to look through the resources listed below, and post your response to the prompt some time over the new few weeks!

Prompt

In our Community Agreement discussion thread (on the SDA Community Forum) please write a post that responds to the following questions:

  • What do you need from your fellow residents in order to feel safe, supported, open, and respected?

  • What makes you feel most supported when discussing challenging topics?

  • How do you like to be approached when someone wants to give your feedback?

  • Are there specific Community Agreements you have used in other groups that you found particularly helpful?
