Artist Statement
In no order, I am motivated to write, create, & love by:
Really good breakfast sandwiches
373 Spotify playlists and counting
Trying not to hate doctors anymore, despite their best efforts to deserve it
Fellow disabled activists, poets, & friends
Twitter doomscrolling
Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, Mia Mingus, Stacey Park Milbern, & others living & ancestors who have written powerfully about disability justice
Lowercase letters & a love of the ampersand
Embarrassing old diary entries I can't stop revisiting
Productive anger in pursuit of love (still, mostly, against the medical-industrial complex)
Unions
The idea, the hope, the dream of a future we can all survive into.
