María Jesús Maury

They | Them | Theirs

Lima, Peru | Occupying the unceded lands of the Wari and Quechua peoples

Artist Statement

I am moved by the experience of listening and resonance, and the paths and traces of relations that are forged into our collective memory by sharing times and spaces with other human beings —and any connected matter. It is by this feeling of interconnectedness that I'm exploring different pathways for my artistic work, from music and sound design to film and virtual installations. This work requires my engagement with the communities I'm part of, and a universal design framework. Both of these missions are ones that I'm constantly learning.
