Artist Statement

I am an improvising musician and audio artist working with the breath, flutes and, generally, electro-acoustic sound extension and mixes. In my work I make room for sound/timbre as well as melody and harmony. Recently this has meant time spent away from the computer while I return solely to acoustic instruments. I am influenced by too many things and it is difficult to find a 'filter' or a funnel. After half a lifetime of multiple neurological conditions and other chronic illnesses, I am hoping to find a way of making that is kinder to my impairments. And also, due to isolation, of listening to and learning from others.
